    Pages for an annotated stamp album showcasing postage stamps and covers, assembled by Rex Toomey in the 1970's and 1980s during the Bi-centenary Celebrations of James Cook's discovery of Australia. Pages feature meticulous calligraphy by Toomey in black ink on graph paper, with Hawid mounted stamps. Arranged and described in the following chapters:​

    The Opening of the Pacific: A Philatelic Study of the Navigators

    ​​This collection of Australian and international stamps, issued between the 1960s and 1980s, commemorates key European voyages into the Pacific, the navigators associated with them, and a number of key bicentenaries. Information about the navigators and their voyages, with hand drawn maps copied from material in the Mitchell Library, have been included to provide context for the stamps. The stamps have been further captioned with information about their issue.
