​Pamela Ruth Beanham (1938-2021) was the daughter of Harry Beanham, motorcycle company proprietor and amateur photographer. She collected and maintained the family collection over many years, up until her death in 2021 when it was bequeathed to the Library. Her father William Harry Beanham (1903-1996) was born in Melbourne and moved to Sydney in 1929, opening his first motorcycle spare-parts shop in Wentworth Avenue. Over the course of his life, he was successful in several business enterprises including Allparts, Threadco, Munro Machinery, Linguaclub, Buyers & Traders and Pultney Holdings. He was also a keen amateur photographer, entering his work from age 14 in photography competitions and journals, and was a member of various amateur photography societies including the Stereographic Society.

​This collection comprises the family papers and photographs collected by Pamela Ruth Beanham (later Saul). The collection contains material from her father Harry Beanham, motorcycle company proprietor and amateur photographer; her mother Mavis Beanham (nee Stratman); their family life and activities; and documents Pamela’s adult life and events up until her death.
