  • Scope and Content
    Comprises two volumes of records of the Department of Agriculture (New South Wales) relating to the management of the Centennial Parklands:

    1X
    Ledger ‘Labour Records’, 1949-1965. The front endpaper contains a handwritten note: ‘issued on 1-6-50, copies of Police regulations for use and care of firearms to Rangers S. Pearce, E. Bower and L. Bourke, who signed for same’. The flyleaf includes a handwritten template for a resignation letter (attached with tape): ‘Dear Sir, I wish to tender my resignation as a garden labourer with Dept. of Agriculture, my last day of service being Date ceasing duty at Time AM or PM’. The back endpaper contains an annotated typescript ‘Centennial Park Staff Board’ (attached with tape), detailing staff name and address details.

    Also includes material which predates the Department of Agriculture management of the Centennial Parklands:

    Ledger ‘Plants – Seeds Purchases’ [mostly empty], with entries for 1902, 1903 and 1906 from suppliers in Sydney, Adelaide, Norfolk Island, Lord Howe Island, Haarlem (Netherlands), Orleans (France) and Antwerp (Belgium).
