William Thomas "Bill" or W T Cooper AO (1934–2015) was an Australian artist born in Newcastle. A self-taught landscape and seascape artist, he went on to specialise in natural history paintings of birds. He travelled extensively through Australia and overseas to Papua New Guinea and Africa, and his works illustrated various portfolio books on birds. Cooper often worked in collaboration with his wife, botanist Wendy Cooper, who wrote several of the books he illustrated. The photographs in this collection were kept by William T. Cooper until his death in 2015. Some photographs were taken by Wendy Cooper. The digital scans were prepared by Wendy from her collection.
