Jill Langton was a member of the Stonewall Collective Committee. The Stonewall Collective was formed in 1981 to mark the Stonewall Riots in New York, 28 June 1969. Police raids were used to expose gay men and cross dressers during that time. Stonewall Inn was raided by police on 28 June, but patrons of Stonewall refused to have their ID checked by police. This sparked protests that lasted more than three days and started the gay rights movement around the world.
