  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Melbourne-born artist Jessie Traill studied at the National Gallery School, followed by studies in Paris and London, exhibiting in both cities in 1909. She was an accomplished etcher but also worked in watercolours. She travelled extensively, recording her travels in her art and in numerous written articles. Her prints featuring the Sydney Harbour Bridge at various stages of construction during the 1920s and 1930s have become her most highly regarded works.
