- Scope and ContentIn this interview, psychiatrist, Dr John Snowdon speaks about his career in psychiatry in England and Australia, moving to Rozelle Hospital in 1987, and how the number and quality of staff affects the quality of care. Dr Snowdon describes the buildings and grounds of the Hospital, and discusses the role of nurses in mental health care. He also shares his opinions on military veterans being hospitalised rather than being given long-term care, paperwork taking precedence over treatment, community care, education for mental health professionals, and how political agendas can negatively affect health care systems.
