  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Moore College opened at Liverpool, New South Wales in 1856, founded by several people including Thomas Moore and Anglican Bishop of Sydney, Frederic Barker. The college relocated to Newtown to be nearer to University of Sydney in 1891.

    Charles Arthur Senhouse Minton was a boarding student at Moore College when travelling photographer Beaufoy Merlin visited some time in 1870-72.

  • Scope and Content
    A carte de visit albumen photographic print of Moore Theological College, Liverpool New South Wales, with the chapel located on the left side and the Principal's house located on the right side. A handwritten message on verso from Charles Minton to his brother, Herbert, identifies the fifth person from the right wearing white trousers, as his tutor, Mr Muzy.

    The second carte de visite albumen photographic print is a miniature portrait of Charles Arthur Senhouse Minton, dressed in clerical attire, with the inscription, "With Charlie's love. April 1881. For H." on verso.
