    On Saturday, 17 July 2021 the Premier of NSW, Gladys Berejiklian announced that construction sites across Greater Sydney would be ordered to cease all non-urgent works for two weeks from Monday, 19 July 2021. The decision was taken to help limit the community transmission of Covid-19 during the outbreak of the highly contagious Delta variant across Sydney.

  • Scope and Content
    This collection consists of 4 digital photographs of masked builders on the northern beaches of Sydney closing their buildings sites on Monday, 19 July 2021. The images reveal how unexpected the announcement was across the industry, with building materials left partially covered on a construction site along with tables, chairs and drink bottles still left out.
