  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY
    The Greek community worldwide celebrates March 25 as the start of the War of Greek Independence in 1821, commonly known as Greek Independence Day. The Calopedis and Lianos Kolantgis families originated from Kythera, Greece. The Lianos Kolantgis family owned The Canberra Cafe (approximately 1926-1980) in Bellingen, New South Wales. Kiriakoula Lianos Kolantgis (nee Capsanis) moved to Sydney after her marriage and ran the Kings Milk Bar in Ashfield, 1952-1980.
