    Pamela Brown (1948-) is a Sydney poet, playwright, performer, songwriter, reviewer and teacher of writing. In the mid-1970s she was involved with the feminist rock band Clitoris Band. In 1981 she worked at Experimental Art Foundation, the Come Out youth arts festival and Artists' Week at the Adelaide Festival. In 1988 she produced As Much Trouble as Talking, co-written with Jan McKemmish, for a season at Belvoir St.Theatre and in 1989 she was Playwright-in-Residence at Sydney's Performance Space.

    Brown has held tutoring and lecturing positions at the College of Fine Arts, Sydney. In 1991, she taught Australian poetry at the Foreign Language University in Hanoi, Vietnam. She has published Sureblock (1972), New and Selected Poems (1990), Little Droppings (1994) and 50-50 (1997). She was finalist in the 1985 Premiers Literary Awards for her ‘Selected Poems 1971-1982’. Brown was poetry editor for Overland from 1997 to 2002. In 1993 Brown was a guest of the Festival Franco-Anglais de Poesie in Paris, France and in 2001 she was a guest at the inaugural Internationales Literaturfestival Berlin in Germany.
