The Sculptor’s Society, previously known as the Society of Sculptors and Associates, was formed in 1951 and is the longest continuously existing sculpture organisation in Australia. Members include prominent sculptors like Lyndon Dadswell, Bim Hilder, Jerry and Margot Lewers, Robert Klippel, Margel Hinder, Tom Bass, Bert Flugelman, and Robert Woodward. Among its founders and associates were prominent architect like Prof. Denis Winston, Arthur Baldwinson, Sydney Archer and John Devenish.

The Sculptor’s Society is the only professional organisation of sculptors in NSW. The aim of the Society is to advance the understanding and appreciation of sculpture, to promote and encourage its use and raise the standard of professional education among the practitioners of sculpture as well as the general public. From 1972-1984, it occupied premises at the Rocks and conducted sculpture classes, educational lectures and film evenings. It also ran a Sculpture Gallery and organized many exhibitions from 1951-1988. These include; ‘Recent Sculpture’ 1973, Seeing Hands 1980, Marquettes for Sculpture 1985,
