    Bill Condon, Australian author, playwright, poet and for a period of time a newspaper journalist. He has written more than 80 books, many in collaboration with Robert Hood, including several collections of plays and poetry, as well as short stories, novels and works of non-fiction. A large number of his published books were written for young readers in the genre of humour and horror fiction. In 2001, his book Miss Wolf and the Porkers won the KOALA (Kids Own Australian Literature Awards) in the younger readers category.
    Two of his works, Dogs (2001) and No Worries (2006), were Honour Books in the older readers category of the Children's Book Council Book of the Year Awards.
    In 2010, Bill Condon won the Prime Minister's Literary Award in the inaugural category of young adult fiction with his novel Confessions of a Liar, Thief and Failed Sex God.
    His wife, Dianne Bates, is also a well known children's writer.
