The Council of Social Service of New South Wales (NCOSS) was set up in 1936 to co-ordinate the work of social and community services sector in New South Wales. NCOSS is a co-ordinating body for non-government welfare organizations in NSW. Its main role is to develop policies and programs to improve the social conditions of the community and to provide and advocacy, leadership and information to the social and community services sector in New South Wales. NCOSS works with members, the sector, the NSW Government and its departments and other relevant agencies on current and emerging (and ongoing) social, systemic and operational issues.
