  Autograph letter, from Louis (senior) de Freycinet to his son Henri de Freycinet, sent from Freycinet [family château], 12 November 1817 (4 pages on a single folded sheet, with Laage archive stamp, Dossier 239-26), writing of the letter he has just received from Louis and Rose from Gibraltar, where they experienced bad weather. He says that he counselled against Louis’ plan to take Rose. He continues with a discussion of politics, family matters and Henri’s reluctance to accept a gift from his mother for their baby boy.
