  Autograph letter signed, from Louis de Freycinet to Henri de Freycinet, sent from Paris, 11 July 1837 (4 pages on a single folded sheet, with Laage archive stamp, Dossier 262 A-8). Includes news of the progress of his work on the voyage account and his Dictionary of the Mariana language (“le désespoir de ma vie”). He has lost the services of his assistant Poirier and hopes that he might find a valet who can read and write so that he can at least act as copyist.
