Charles Stitz is a retired lawyer who became an antiquarian bookseller in Albury, New South Wales. His interest in the previous owners of the books he stocks led him to assemble details of the lives and collections of Australian book collectors, editing his first book ‘Australian book collectors: some noted Australian book collectors & collections of the nineteenth & twentieth centuries’, published in 2010. This was followed by a second series in two volumes, published in 2013, and a third series, also in two volumes, published in 2016.
