  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Parmjit Singh and his family migrated to Australia in 1998. He completed a Bachelor of Science and Agriculture, and Masters in Agronomy at the Punjab Agricultural University, a Masters in Science and Natural Resources, and a PHD in Horticulture at the University of Bonn, in Germany. Since arriving in Australia he has worked in a number of roles relating to the environment and conservation including Landcare, NSW Agriculture, and the University of Western Sydney and Ultimo TAFE. He is now a Senior Health and Building Surveyor for the Hills Shire Council in Sydney.

Since Parmjit moved to Australia he has been very active in volunteer work for his Sikh religion and in 2014 he and his wife started the Care One Care All charity. The charity initially raised money for needy people in India and overseas, but in 2017 he and his volunteers took basic supplies to people in drought-stricken regions in Coonamble, Cessnock and Armidale. From December 2019 to early 2020 Parmjit’s charity took water, food and other supplies to bushfire affected towns at Coffs Harbour, Tenterfield, Nowra, Ulladulla, Milton, Mogo, Narooma, Cobargo and Bermagui in NSW.
