  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Brendan Hurley has a 21-year career in the emergency management and humanitarian environment focusing on the prevention, preparedness, response and co-ordination sectors. He has international humanitarian deployment experience to a number of locations including South Sudan, Uganda, Japan, Papua New Guinea, Timor-Leste, Solomon Islands and Vanuatu. He previously worked with World Vision International as the Humanitarian Emergency Affairs Manager for the Pacific & Timor-Leste Region. Brendan currently holds the positions of Disaster Assistance Response Team (DART) member and Acting Inspector with Fire & Rescue NSW.

    Brendan is Urban Search & Rescue qualified and he has a thorough working knowledge of the International Search & Rescue Advisory Group (INSARAG) guidelines and methodology. Brendan is a graduate of the Humanitarian Leadership Programme and is currently completing the Masters in Humanitarian Assistance with Deakin University.
