In 1985 Martin Fallding was appointed as a member of the Barrington Tops and Woko National Parks Advisory Committee, providing advice to the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service on management and planning for the area. He had previously been involved in bushwalking in the Barrington Tops and campaigning for extensions to the national park in the early 1980’s. He has also had a long involvement in community and environmental organisations, and developed Callicoma Hill eco-cabins in the Hunter Valley at Mount Royal, on the southern edge of the Barrington Tops region.
