    Keith James was the director of Prouds Art Gallery from 1965-1986, located in a department store at the corner of King and Pitt Street, Sydney.

    Barbara Tribe was a Sydney born painter and sculptor. She was the first woman and first sculptor to win the New South Wales Travelling Art Scholarship. Throughout the war she remained in England then moved to Cornwall, where she taught at the Penzance School of Arts, until her retirement in 1988. During her time in Cornwall, she was commissioned by Australia House in London to create seven busts of Royal Australian Air Force servicemen.

    4 letters handwritten in ink from Barbara Tribe sent to Keith James, Director of Prouds Art Gallery in Sydney. The first letter discusses James' recent resignation from Prouds and potential problems this may cause, plus various art matters; the second discusses a possible meeting in Asia plus various matters of art and gallery interest; the third has more gallery matters plus the recent purchase by the Australian War Memorial of four more RAAF busts; the fourth describes Tribe's trip to Adelaide, with newspaper clippings related to the RAAF busts.
