  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    Elite Hall was located in the western Sydney suburb of Guildford and first opened its doors in 1913. In approximately 1930 it became part of the Western Suburbs Cinemas chain and was renamed the Regent Theatre. It was taken over by Hoyts in 1944 and continued to operate as a cinema up until 1967, when it closed its doors for the last time.

  • Scope and Content
    8 colour glass lantern slides featuring cinema advertisements for local businesses and the Australian Labor Party. The slides were originally shown at Elite Hall, later renamed the Regent Theatre, in Guildford, New South Wales, from approximately 1920 to 1934.
