Jeannie Baker (b. 1950), an award-winning artist, author and film maker, was born in England, migrating to Australia in 1975. Her award-winning picture books include Where the Forest Meets the Sea, Window, and Mirror.

Circle (first published in 2016) traces the migration of the Bar-tailed Godwit (Limosa lapponica baueri) from Australia and New Zealand, through Southeast Asia, to their breeding grounds in Alaska, and then back to Australia and New Zealand. Following ancient invisible pathways, the birds visit China and South Korea.
