Cecil John "Tim" Creighton is a Kamilaroi man born at Redfern in 1938 to Edwin Cecil Creighton and Elva Lalor. He has lived and worked in several Aboriginal communities in New South Wales, including Narrabri, Currabubula, Moree, Walgett and Sydney. Creighton has had a varied career as a shearer, labourer, opal miner, hostel operator and Community Development Employment Project manager. He has been involved in numerous Aboriginal sporting and community groups, including as the Chair of Dharriwaa Elders Group.

Michael Bennett is an historian specialising in Indigenous community histories in New South Wales. Bennett was senior researcher and media officer for NTSCorp, assisting native title claimants. He has also been the communications officer for the New South Wales Aboriginal Land Council.
