    Barbara Anne Davidson speaks about her early life, family background including memories of her parents and grandfather, education (Meriden School, Strathfield), early art classes, her life as a Sydney artist, wife and mother, and her work and art practice. She describes her student life at the National Art School with theatre designer Robyn Lovejoy and the encouragement from her teachers, studying and creating work at Willoughby Workshop from 1964, setting up a studio and print making facilities in Crow’s Nest in 1979.

    Barbara draws on preferred subjects of home and city and describes the ways her environment influences her work. She explains how her art draws on urban and regional landscapes and describes her use of processes such as etching and collagraphy. She describes working on the artists’ books, her use of colour and images that recur and the stories behind the themes of her artists’ books, including Perisher/Thredbo, the Harbour Bridge and the Sydney Opera House.
