  • Scope and Content
Murray, an Australian musican and actor, speaks about his experience of being a founding member of the popular children’s entertainment group The Wiggles and performing as the Red Wiggle for 21 years. Murray talks about his early life and family growing up in Cowra, Orange and Taren Point NSW, his passion for music and playing guitar, studies in Early Childhood Development and work as a preschool teacher, and meeting the other members of the Wiggles at university.

Cook discusses the creation of The Wiggles, incorporating principles of early childhood development in their music and performances, their early days with the ABC, how they wrote their songs, characters, organised their performances, and the positive and swift public response in Australia. He also talks about the challenges of breaking the American market, the logistics of touring away from home and trying to balance family life, and his decision to retire from The Wiggles in 2012
