  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The Coast and Mountain Walkers of NSW (CMW) is a large Sydney-based bushwalking club. Established in 1934, the club offers various walks of varying difficulty and “specializes in overnight, weekend and extended bushwalks in the Sydney region, NSW, Australia interstate and overseas”.

    The donor, Dennis Morgan, is a former member of the Coast and Mountain Walkers who documented many of the trips in which he took part.

    1. “Coast and Mountain Walkers 1: Miscellaneous, 2004-2006”
    Contains an invitation to Coast and Mountain Walkers ‘70th dinner’, and a flyer and circular concerning a book launch by The Budawang Committee Inc. (2004).
    Also included are 11 photographic prints and 15 negatives relating to ‘CMW Xmas Picnic at Colin Watson’s house, Eastwood. 4 December, 2004’ and ‘Colin Watson, OAM at his home at 40 Alexandria Ave, Eastwood. September, 2006’.

    2. “Coast and Mountain Walkers 2: Morton National Park, 8-9 May 1999. Tullyangela Clearing, Wineglass Tor, Shoalhaven River, Timms Gully and return.”
    Contains a trip report, a photocopied marked-up map, a map of Touga (8928-III-S), photocopies from a hiking guidebook and a magazine clipping.
    Also included are 25 photographic prints and 26 negatives.

    3. “Coast and Mountain Walkers 3: Kanangra Boyd National Park, 22-23 May 1999. Mount Kanangra, Brennan Top, Gabes Gap, Mount Cloudmaker, Ti Willa Pleateau, Gingra Creek, Pages Pinnacle and return.”

    Contains a trip report, a photocopied marked-up map, two maps (Rendezvous Creek: 8626-1-S; Yaouk: 8626-II-N) and a newspaper clipping.

    2. “Coast and Mountain Walkers 16: Kosciuszko National Park, 11-15 June 2004. Camp at Cesjack’s Hut. Explore Great Dividing Range including Munyang Range and Spencers Peak.”
    Contains a trip report, a photocopied marked-up map, a Kosciusko National Park tourist map, 4 maps (Nimmo Plain: 8625-4S; Jagungal: 8525-1S; Old Adaminaby: 8625-4N; Toolong Range: 8525-1N), printouts of email correspondence, magazine and newspaper clippings.
    Also included are 71 photographic prints and 47 negatives.

    3. “Coast and Mountain Walkers 17: Kanangra Boyd National Park, 14-15 August 2004. Boyd Range Track, Morong Hill, Megalith Ridge, Kowmung River, Moola Point, Misery Ridge, Uni Rover Trail and return.”
    Contains a trip report, a photocopied marked-up map, a map of Kanangra (8930-III-S) and a folder containing newspaper clippings and a real estate brochure.

    4. “Coast and Mountain Walkers 18: Wollemi National Park, 4-5 September 2004. Mountain Lagoon, Colo River, Mailes Ridge, Gospers Ridge and return.”
    Contains a trip report, a photocopied marked-up map, a map of Wollemi National Park (Central Mapping Authority of New South Wales) and a folder ‘Discussed a few times during trip’ containing newspaper clippings.
    Also included are 37 photographic prints and 39 negatives.

    5. “Coast and Mountain Walkers 19: Morton National Park, 18-19 September 2004. CMW Reunion, Tallong.”
    Contains a trip report, a photocopied marked-up map, a map of Caoura (8928-III-N), an invitation to the Coast and Mountain Walkers ‘Annual Campfire at Tallong’.
    Also included are 59 photographic prints and 58 negatives.

    6. Coast and Mountain Walkers 20: Blue Mountains National Park, 2-5 October 2004.
    Yerranderie, Tonalli River, Tonalli Pass, Lacys Creek, Reilly Creek, Lacys Tablelands and return.”
    Contains a trip report, a photocopied marked-up map, a map of Burragorang (8929-1-N), a final draft of an article (‘Lacys Lacerations’) by Dennis Morgan detailing a Coast and Mountain Walkers trip, as well as printouts of email correspondence and a memo relating to the article (2004-2005).
    Also included are 48 photographic prints and 44 negatives.
