Elaine Syron (formerly Pelot-Kitchener) is an American-born photographer who arrived in Australia in 1971 to work as a teacher. She began her photographic work in the late 1970s, documenting political and cultural activity in Sydney with a particular commitment to the inner-west Aboriginal community around Redfern.
