Paul Cropper has researched animal folklore in Australia since 1975. He has co-authored two books on the subject, 'Out of the Shadows, Mystery Animals of Australia', 1994 and 'The Yowie: in search of Australia’s Bigfoot', 2006.

This collection contains interviews by animal folklore researcher Paul Cropper with witnesses of yowie and big cat sightings which occured in New South Wales, Victoria, Queensland, Western Australia and the Northern Territory between 1938-1939 and 1970-2005. It also includes some interviews by fellow researcher Tony Healy, and a 2WS radio documentary on the Yowie, ca. 1980s.
