    Geoffrey Haigh Northover was born in Bath, UK around 1903 and died in 1971. He came to Australia in 1923 and several of the photographs document that voyage. He joined the Royal Australian Navy during World War II and had a desk job in the Ordinance Inspection Department, offering opportunities to take photos of the aircraft being assembled at Cessnock. He was a keen amateur photographer and documented his military career and daily life including holidays.
