    Donald Seton Wilkinson is the former chair of the Dalwood Restoration Association, and a descendent of the Wyndham family. George Wyndham (1801-1870) established Dalwood Estate in the Hunter Valley, NSW. His son Reginald was a founding member of the Australian Hereford Herd Book Society, which undertook to publish a reliable public Herd Book for all the colonies.

  • Collection history
    The donor, Donald Seton Wilkinson, purchased the minute book from Kym Bonnefin of Pymble Gallery in 2018; the catalogues, pamphlet and letter passed by descent into the possession of the Dalwood Restoration Association

    1. Minute book, bound in half red morocco, cloth covers, with marble edges, inscribed on title page "The Australian Hereford Herd Book Society", with 21 pages of manuscript meeting minutes, 1885-1891
    2. Five sale catalogues of Hereford (one including Devon) cattle bred by Reginald Wyndham at Leconfield stud, near Branxton, NSW, with some annotations, 1883, 1885, 1891, 1892, 1893
    3. Reprint pamphlet entitled "Some particulars of imported cattle mentioned in Volume 1 of the Australasian Herd Book and of some of the foundation herds" published by the Australian Hereford Society, no date
