    "Photographs to illustrate 1938/39 Papers: Groote Eylandt (N.T.)" being an album of 122 photographic prints of Groote Eylandt and Darwin, 1938. Each photograph titled and dated. Also includes a contents list, index and cross reference to pages of "1938/39 Papers: Groote Eylandt (N.T.)" [Donated Mar. 1971. Previously located at MLMSS 2076 ADD-ON 324. Negatives for some of the photographs in this album are at NCY 4/179-412]

    BOX 3
    An album of photographs taken by or relating to Frederick Rose, 1920, 1934-1942 including photos of Aborigines. Compiled by Rose in Sept. 1974. Additional prints originally kept loose in an envelope pasted on the inside back cover of the album have been rehoused into a folder (also in Box 3) and arranged in chronological order, 1937-1942, 1951. Negatives for some of the photographs in this album are at ON 633.

    Set of 34 photographic prints, originally from the Department of the Interior, taken in the Northern Territory in the early 1930s. Typed list included.

    Copies of two letters written by Prof. A.P. Elkin to J.A. Carrodus, Secretary of the Dept. of the Interior, the first from 1940 backing Rose’s request for permission to conduct research on Groote Eylandt, and the second from 1945, advising against publishing Rose’s thesis on Groote Eylandt.
