    John James (Jack) Speering (1911-1993) was a leading ‘Old Time Dance’ vocalist in Australia and conducted dances, concerts and club shows throughout New South Wales. In Sydney he performed with Hal Carter’s Orchestra at the Old Time Dance at the Surreyville Ballroom through the 1950’s and live with Phil Furley’s Orchestra on radio 2HD Newcastle to the nation each Wednesday evening. He performed regularly on television through NBN 3 Newcastle and was director of the Palais Royale in Newcastle for 28 years. Jack Speering was also a prolific recording artist who released over 35 LP albums and EP’s between ca. 1953 and ca. 1977.
