    MLMSS 11186
    Comprises the records of the Royal Exchange of Sydney (formerly known as Sydney Exchange Company) and contains minute books (including half-yearly reports and news clippings, 1857-1964), cash books (1851-1891), letter books (1857-1910), visitor books (1898-1941, 1967-1996), share transfer registers (1853-1962), ledgers (1854-1890), and an act and certificate of incorporation (1853, 1969). Also included are a memorandum and articles of association (1961-1976), analysis book (1978-1986), liquor purchases register NSW, correspondence, trading reports, agreements, financial and membership records, news clippings, press releases, newsletters, menus and publication proofs of 'Mercury's Rod - The Royal Exchange' (c. 1993-2001).

    There is also a photograph album (1987), an undated photograph, two wooden commemorative plaques (1853, 1857), a bound souvenir of the unveiling of the Statue of Commerce at the Sydney Exchange (1900), two prints of the Royal Exchange building (mounted on card and frames removed), a piece of carpet and other ephemera.

    Box 8 and Box 10X include photographs.

    Timber plaque: ‘His Excellency Sir William Thomas Denison, K.C.B. Governor of New South Wales who declared The Royal Exchange open on 30th December 1857.’
