Wendy Sharpe is one of Australia’s most awarded artists, she lives and works in Sydney and Paris. She has been awarded The Sulman Prize, two Travelling Scholarships, The Portia Geach Memorial Award (twice), The Archibald Prize, and many others. She has been a finalist in The Sulman Prize twelve times, and The Archibald Prize six times. She has held over 59 solo exhibitions around Australia and internationally.

Comprises drawings created by Wendy Sharpe during her residency at the State Library of New South Wales as part of the 'Drawing the Library: an occasional artists' residency at State Library of New South Wales' program in 2017-2018. Ms Sharpe produced a series of drawings documenting the activity at the Library, and these paintings document the Mitchell Library Reading Room as interpreted by a leading Australian contemporary artist recording how they looked at a particular moment in time.
