Wooden box covered in leather, inscribed: ‘Arrest of Governor Bligh. January 26, 1808. The original manuscript documents. The property of the Government of New South Wales.’

The inside of the box contains a glued in typescript label, signed by Shirley Humphries: ‘Arrest of Governor Bligh. The documents formerly kept in a volume in this box (framed between glass) are now housed at Safe 4/5. The key to the case is in envelope in this box. Shirley Humphries, Manuscript Librarian, 26th June, 1972’.

The box also contains an envelope (on the reverse of which is written ‘Key to D357’) with a key in it. The key has a written vellum tag attached to it: ‘Key of Box – Arrest of Governor Bligh’.
