  • Scope and Content
A bound photograph album with gilt lettered spine, 74 photographs on 32 pages set in New South Wales, largely relating to the telegraph station at La Perouse, with a few at Redfern, Manly, and the Blue Mountains and the La Perouse Aboriginal reserve, also presumably Singapore, which are associated with the Eastern Extension Australasian & China Telegraph Station Co (EETC) deployment which operated at La Perouse from 1876 to 1917. These show EETC buildings, and personnel and their social activities which include tours and picnics to other parts of Sydney.

There are 3 photographs showing people at the La Perouse Aboriginal Reserve ca. 1894. They are of a group of 8 adults and 5 children outside a hut. A man in the group is shown laying out fishing nets, one of a man by his hut and the other a general view of the Aboriginal reserve.

There is a photographic copy of a farewell song composed in May 1894 at La Perouse for the crew of the 'Sherard Osborn', the cable-laying and repair ship of EETC, which arrived in Port Jackson from its base in Singapore on 11 March 1894, commanded by Captain Madge. The song includes names of various crew members of the ship.
