    In the file there is an undated memo giving a history of the Newspapers Staff Officers Association. The association was formed in 1955 and registered by the NSW Industrial Registrar as an Industrial Union of employees on December 6, 1956. The file also contains a booklet on the rules and constitution, October 2 1955.
    Memo dated August 11, 1971 from the general manager to all staff officers about the attempts being made to disrupt production of the newspapers.
    Letter from Nicholas Fairfax, son of J. B. Fairfax, dated February 10, 1973 about his inability to attend the Printers' Picnic at Cronulla.
    The file contains memos to and from the association regarding wages and payments for overtime, sixth shifts etc. There are lists of the names of staff officers and their current salaries.
    There are also memos from the general manager to the association on various topics, from the economic climate putting restraints on the company, good housekeeping etc. There were also invitations to the general manager to the association's annual picnics.
