The file contains memos setting out the management's original thoughts on the establishment of the archives. The remaining memos are requests for expenditure from the archivist. There is a memo in 1982 following discussions between the company historian, chief editorial executive and group general manager. At the back of the file there is a list of records "Stored at Rosebery". These were packed into crates at the time of the move from Hunter Street to Broadway, but during the period to the appoint of the archivist the records were destroyed without reference to the managing director's secretary.
