The file contains correspondence and in-house memos relating to Mr Jeffress's credit line with the company, as well as his wish for accreditation to the Media Council as an advertising agency. He was granted accreditation on April 1, 1975. On August 19, 1980 a formal luncheon was held in the director's dining-room, John Fairfax Limited, to mark the presentation by Mr Neville Jeffress of a cheque for $1 million representing the billings by his advertising agency in Fairfax Broadway newspapers for the month of July - a record. Photographs of the occasion are in the file.
Neville Jeffress took over the advertising section of Gordon and Gotch on April 1, 1986. Correspondence about as well as the Age's thoughts on the matter.
Other correspondence over the period relates to advertising matters.
