Saltkela was established on 2 May 1978. The first meeting of Directors appears to have taken place on 3 May 1978 and the company was registered on 26 November 1979. Saltkela was an investment company that could deal in real and personal property; carry on businesses, apply for patents, invest and deal with money; and act as a Trustee for a person, firm or company.
In 1986 approval of the Corporate Affairs Commission In New South Wales was obtained to change the name of Saltkela to Fairfax Finance Pty Limited. This was endorsed at the Shareholder's meeting of 21 August 1986.
At a meeting of the Board on 13 August 1992 it was determined that the company be wound up. John R. Gibbons was appointed Liquidator of the Company. This proposal was put to an Extraordinary General Meeting of Shareholders on 2 September 1992. The company was deregistered on 5 June 1993

The Register of Managers and Secretaries shows the office held; full name; address; other occupations if relevant; any change to the appointment and date
The Register of Directors' Shareholdings show the surname, given names, number of shares; kind of shares, name of the company in which the shares are held, date, cost and any remarks
The Register of Members gives the full name and address of the shareholder; date shares were allotted or transferred the number of shares, their distinctive numbers and the balance held.
