  • Scope and Content
'The New Technology' after the first issue known as 'What's Happening' was intended to provide staff with information about technological change, particularly to the journalists, reporters, and related staff of the Editorial Department.
The role of the publication was to acquaint staff with the changes that would occur with the adoption of Arsycom (An acronym for Architecture of Systems with Computers) which automated editorial, classified and display advertising operations.
The publication was intended to be occasional. The first Issue was dated September 1976. There is no evidence of authorship on the publication but correspondence indicates that it was prepared by the Technology Projects Manager, Ian L. Arnold.
