Initially the circulars were usually issued weekly. The circulars were numbered sequentially until June 1981 when an annual single number system was introduced. The circulars appear to have been used as a means of disseminating information to staff during the General Managerships of R. P. Falkingham and G. J. Gardiner, the latter signing as Group General Manager after 29 March 1982. The early circulars advised matters such as staff benefits and amenities, changes in production, milestones in newspaper size, changes to arrangement of the contents of newspapers, new appointments and career details when a person was appointed to a senior post; committees; overseas study groups; retirements; company shares, acquisition of properties and plant; company projects, promotions and achievements. However within two years of the commencement of the series they rarely included material other than appointments and retirements.
The series was succeeded by the Broadway Newsletter commencing on 25 May 1982, and a related series was Letter to Our Employees that took on the role of advising of major innovations and achievements within the company between 29 September 1975 and 15 April 1981
