Sungravure, a subsidiary of Associated Newspapers Ltd, was responsible for publishing magazines. The companies were acquired by John Fairfax in April 1956. Like many other subsidiaries it appears that the circulation figures were regularly forwarded to the group General Manager.

Note: International Publishing Corporation Ltd acquired a half interest in Sungravure in December 1969, but sold this to Sungravure Holdings Pty Ltd in 1975. John Fairfax acquired full ownership of the company in 1978. Following the closure of the Rosebery plant in June 1981, Sungravure ceased being the printer as well as the publisher. It was re-named Magazine Promotions Australia Pty Ltd. In 1986 it was again re-named Fairfax Magazines Pty Limited

The circulation figures showed statistics for the current and preceding week and for the corresponding period in the previous year. Comparative figures for rival publications were also shown.
