  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

    The Reverend George Gill was a British cleric and missionary, who served in the Cook Islands from 1845-1860. Gill was also the author of several hymns including "Beautiful Zion, built above" (Heaven), which was printed in the Juvenile Missionary Magazine in 1852. Gill left the Pacific in 1860, and in 1861 became pastor of Wesgate Congregational Chapel, Burnley.
