Marco Productions Limited was founded ca 1934 by Marcus Isaacs as a manufacturer of, and dealer in, men’s clothes. It was incorporated in the same year and listed as a public company in 1951. Production commenced on a very small scale in leased premises in Surry Hills. In 1945 a new production unit was built in St Leonards and four years later another production unit was acquired in Balgowlah. The company operated until 1978 when, facing competition from cheap overseas imports and a down turn in the economy, it was taken over by Stamina Clothing (NSW) Pty Limited.

R. M. (Robert Marcus) Isaacs was the son of Marcus Isaacs. Bob, as he was known, worked in the family business and became Managing Director (stepping in from his father) until the company take over by Stamina clothing in 1978.
