  • General note

The Horbury Terraces, are colonial city terraces that were common on Macquarie Street in the mid-19th century. Originally built in 1839, the terraces were one of the most desirable residences in the colony in the 1840s, and some of the earliest to have running water. Originally part of a row of seven terraces, only two of the townhouses now remain (one shown on right of painting is now demolished). The Wyoming (built 1911), one of the first high-rise blocks of ‘professional chambers’.
