  • ADMINISTRATIVE/ BIOGRAPHICAL HISTORY

Pacita Alexander, Tom Inglis Moore's daughter, graduated with BA Hons from Sydney University. She married Hungarian-born Ivan Szatmary-Alexander, a Melbourne medical graduate, and they lived in England for eight years. On their return to Melbourne, Pacita studied librarianship, receiving the Fabinyi Award for writing during the course. After her husband's death in 1975, she worked as a school librarian to support her three children. She also was a research assistant for Leslie Rees's A History of Australian Drama (1978), published a chapter on Moore's work in the Philippines in Discovering Australiasia (ed. Reynado C. Ileto and Rodney Sullivan, 1993), and co-authored a biography of her father, A Love Affair with Australian Literature (2004).
