Brian Fletcher (1931-2018) was a lecturer in History at the University of NSW and the University of Sydney. He retired in 2000 and was awarded the title Emeritus Professor in recognition of his long and distinguished service to the University of Sydney. In 2007 he was honoured by the History Council of NSW with its annual history citation which recognises a lifetime of significant contribution by an individual to the profession and practice of history.
