    Mark MacNamara is a member of Oral History NSW and a volunteer with the Community of South Sudanese and Other Marginalised Areas NSW. He studied International Relations and Creative Writing at Macquarie University, and Communication at the University of Canberra. He is an information management specialist in NSW Government, and publisher of scribblehead.co

    Emmanuel Kondok was born in South Sudan. He fled the country in 1982 after his father was accused of conspiring with the rebel army, imprisoned and later killed. He spent time in an Ethiopian refugee camp before being returned to South Sudan in 1991. From there he made his way to Kenya where UNHCR placed him in Kakuma Refugee Camp. In 2005 he was accepted as a refugee by Australia and moved to Sydney. In 2010 he founded the Southern Hope Community Organisation (SHCO), a charity that provides help and support for South Sudanese Australians. He is also vice-president of the Horn of Africa Relief and Development Agency.
